Support Tropes vs. Women in Video Games

Anita Sarkeesian, creator of Feminist Frequency, recently put up a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new project about women in video games. Her goal is to bring to light the stereotypes of female characters in various games across  the ages since video games were a thing. However, since starting this campaign, Sarkeesian has received a lot of hate from internet trolls. The only good that has come from the trolls is more people backing her campaign. If you’re interested in exactly how bad the hate and threats have become, you read it all here. (Warning of possible triggers.)

Also, I urge my readers to please check out the Kickstarter page and contribute. I think it is a great project and shouldn’t be hindered by people who are blind to these things.

  1. Coincidentally enough we just wrote an article about feminism and sexism in modern gaming. From a man’s perceptive of course, so it’s completely void, but if you get a chance check it out. http://whatsyourtagblog.com/2012/06/13/women-are-from-zebes/
